Review: Despicable Me

I had originally meant to go see this film in 2D, rather than 3D, but due to the differences in when they started, I saw the 3D version, rather than wait the couple of hours needed, to see the other.

All in all, it’s a fun film. The 3D doesn’t really add anything, but as it’s animated, it doesn’t take anything away, either. Just a pretty simple heartwarming comedy, about a supervillian who finds his heart stolen away.

It’s never particularly surprising, but it is well executed, with call backs to earlier, seemingly unrelated events in the film. Look out for the sky painted Pyramid. And it gives a body swerve to gross out ‘humour’. Always to be applauded.

Probably better for kids than adults, but a solid 3 out of 5 from me.
